Controller (CPA) – 6-12 Month ContractEngineering Search Firm Inc.Location: Downtown Toronto, OntarioContract Length: 6 months (potential extension)Start Date: ASAP / FlexibleCompensation: Competitive hourly or daily rate commensurate with experienceKey Responsibilities:Oversee full-cycle accounting, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, cash‑flow forecasts, and KPI dashboardsEnsure compliance with ASPE/IFRS and internal accounting policiesManage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisOversee project accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and project margin analysisReview and monitor project budgets, billings, progress draws, holdbacks, and subcontractor paymentsManage accounting for property portfolios including leases, capital expenditures, depreciation, and property operating costsSupervise the accounting team; provide mentorship, coaching, and performance managementManage external audits, tax filings, and banking relationshipsOptimize accounting processes, internal controls, and financial systemsSupport senior leadership with financial insights for decision‑makingQualifications & Requirements:CPA designation required (CPA/CA, CMA, or CGA)5–10+ years progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Senior Manager rolesDirect experience in construction (WIP, job costing) and real estate accountingStrong understanding of ASPE/IFRS, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisProficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Yardi is a must)Advanced Excel skills; strong analytical and problem‑solving abilitiesExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environmentOn‑site work: five days a week in Downtown Toronto officeSeniority Level: Mid‑SeniorEmployment Type: ContractIndustries: Construction & Real EstateReferrals are encouraged. #J-18808-Ljbffr
