Position: Junior Engineer – Wind Effects – Bridges (Guelph, ON) Key Responsibilities Pre-test work – coordinate with Model Shop and Wind Tunnel. Monitor model construction and ensure adherence to timelines and efficient workflow. Conduct and manage data collection activities. Collaborate with senior technical experts on the aerodynamics and wind response of long and flexible aeroelastic structures (e.g., long-span bridges and solar arrays). Potentially perform wind loading analysis. Plan and coordinate all technical aspects of assigned projects, including wind tunnel model design and design of experiments. Support the preparation of proposals and marketing material. Work under the general supervision of senior staff. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or related post‑secondary technical education. Comfortable with scientific computing/data science (e.g., Python, MATLAB) and LaTeX. Knowledge of structural design and/or wind sections of building codes (e.g., AASHTO LRFD, CSA S6, EN 1991‑1‑4, NBCC, ASCE 7). Hands‑on experience and skills. Aptitude for practical problem‑solving and proven ability to meet deadlines.
