Here’s what this looks like:You push the boundaries of what’s possible.People know they can rely on you to follow through on your commitments.You believe that when a group of people come together, they can achieve more than any one person could alone.If this sounds like you and you’re ready to join an award-winning organization and work alongside renowned technical and exceptionally innovative colleagues, RWDI is the place for you.Position - We are seeking an applicant to join our Wind Effects - Bridges Team as a Junior Engineer in our Guelph, ON office.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-test work – coordinating with Model Shop and Wind Tunnel.Monitor the construction of models, ensuring adherence to timelines and an efficient flow.Conduct and manage data collection activities.Collaborate with senior technical experts who conduct analysis and consult on the aerodynamics and wind response of long and flexible aeroelastic structures (e.g., long-span bridges and solar arrays).Potentially perform wind loading analysis.Plan and coordinate all technical aspects of assigned projects including wind tunnel model design and design of experiments.Provide support for the preparation of proposals and marketing material.Work under the general supervision of senior staff.Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseA Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or other post secondary technical education.Comfortable with scientific computing/data science (e.g., Python, Matlab) and LaTex.Knowledge of the design of structures and/or knowledge and application of wind sections of building codes (i.e., AASHTO LRFD, CSA S6, EN 1991-1-4, NBCC, ASCE 7).Must have hands on experience and skills.An aptitude for practical problem solving and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines.If you possess 80% of the qualifications listed, please apply since you may have additional skills that would align well with this role.BenefitsAn opportunity to redefine possible.Salary range - $55,000 – $65,000Group health benefits and RRSP Matching after 2 years.Proactive and ongoing training, education, and a Learning Spending Account.Fitness Spending AccountAn abundance of career paths and opportunities to advance.Thank you in advance for your application.
