Position Title: Project Environmental Coordinator

Summary:
The Project Environmental Coordinator provides confidential environmental risk support for conventional and unconventional development projects. This role involves offering technical support, regulatory guidance, and managing environmental commitments, constraints, and mitigation strategies at the project level.

Responsibilities:
Provide pre-development planning technical support and regulatory guidance on environmental issues.
Support Asset Teams (Engineering, Operations) with environmental risk management.
Provide environment-related support to Surface Lands, Government Relations, and External Relations.
Support Facilities & Construction with environmental risk management.
Identify and assess environmental constraints and regulatory requirements.
Identify practical mitigation options.
Assist with regulatory applications.
Provide technical support for risks related to wildlife, biodiversity, vegetation, and ecosystems.
Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of environmental services and reporting.
Monitor environmental regulatory and policy changes and communicate impacts to the business.
Provide oversight on environmental risk management and reporting processes.
Support internal assurance plans.
Communicate operational and regulatory developments to stakeholders.
Support the EHS function to promote an environmental culture.
Ensure local project-related environmental work plans and goals are on track.
Responsible for environmental reporting during the project phase.
Research and apply for grant funding opportunities in the environmental space.
Assist with general regulatory support for regulatory bodies at provincial and federal levels.
Participate in industry working committees to manage regulatory changes.
Support management of the Environmental program within OMS for project delivery.
Maintain awareness of environmental risks to the business and update processes accordingly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
Construction planning/execution or project management backgrounds are considered assets.
Experience in pre-development environmental constraints analysis and management.
Working knowledge of federal, provincial, state, and county environmental regulations.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to analyze environmental risks and develop appropriate programs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint, GIS, Adobe, Power BI, and other relevant software.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Valid driver’s license required.
Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines under tight time constraints.
Experience evaluating indicators and applying findings to program improvement.
Environmental management system experience.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, or relevant technical/scientific discipline.
Professional registration preferred (Engineer, Geologist, Project Management Professional, etc.).
Minimum 10 years of related environmental work experience.
Previous experience as an Environmental consultant with field experience.
Experience working as part of a project or construction management team.
