An Amazing company from Toronto, Canada is looking to add a Senior Back End Engineer to their growing team.

The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for the development of our next-generation Databricks/Spark-based data platform and will report to the Manager of Data Platform. You will take part in efforts to expand our eco-system, which processes ever-increasing volumes of data, by utilizing distributed computing paradigms and burst scaling techniques. You will be required to take part in team discussions about the application of solutions and design explorations. Work on specialized customer-specific extensions or features may be requested of you.

Looking for:

software development expertise

experience in Python development

knowledge of designing schemas and dimensional data models

Working knowledge of Spark and/or Databricks is advantageous.

the capacity to coordinate technical product concerns among many disciplines and teams

a keen understanding of client needs and a desire to participate in determining the direction of the product

Tech Stack;

JavaScript, React, TypeScript, SASS, Jest, and Cypress for the front end

Backend: Postgres, Django, and Python

Databricks/Spark and Dagster for data orchestration

Infrastructure: GitHub, Fargate, ECS, EKS, and AWS
