Senior Software Development Manager, AI/ML Platform

Job Requisition ID # 25WD91594Position OverviewAutodesk is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Development Manager to lead our skilled team of engineers in the design, development, and execution of our advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. Your role extends beyond technical leadership; you will be a pivotal figure in fostering collaboration with partners and driving platform adoption. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, data science, and infrastructure, you will define and execute the AI/ML platform roadmap. Your responsibilities encompass driving the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of scalable AI/ML platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in AI/ML technologies, and a proven track record of delivering complex Software Engineering projects. A successful candidate will deliver while motivating the team and instilling a culture of engineering excellence.Location: Toronto, CanadaResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of engineers in the development and deployment of AI/ML solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, data science, data and cloud infrastructure to define and execute the AI/ML platform roadmapProvide sound technical guidance and drive crucial technology decisionsActively participate in coding, review processes, and problem-solving alongside your teamStay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologiesDrive the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, and efficient AI/ML systemsEnsure adherence to best practices in software development, code quality, and security standardsManage project timelines and resource allocation to deliver projects successfullyFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teamActively participate in the hiring process to attract and onboard top-tier engineering talent, ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills and expertise to execute on the AI/ML platform visionMinimum QualificationsBS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML. (MS preferred)12+ years of experience of software engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in a management roleStrong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaExperience building and deploying AI models, for rapid AI application development, using AWS SageMaker, Bedrock or Azure Machine LearningExperience building and managing large-scale distributed systems and microservices architectureExperience building on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud PlatformDeep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and statistical techniques used in machine learningUnderstanding of MLOps principles and practices for effectively managing and automating machine learning workflows, including model versioning, monitoring, and deploymentExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving project goalsPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in building AI/ML platforms or products from inception to production deploymentKnowledge of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as codeUnderstanding of MLOps principles and practices for effectively managing and automating machine learning workflows, including model versioning, monitoring, and deploymentStrong leadership skills with a proven track record of building and motivating high-performing engineering teamsLearn More / Plus d'informationAbout Autodesk / À propos d’AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk Amazing things are created every day with our software – from the greenest buildings and cleanest cars to the smartest factories and biggest hit movies.
