The primary function of the Research Associate 2 is to independently perform a variety of research activities within a research program while developing strategies and capacity building to enable high-quality research. Duties may include oversight of other researchers and technical personnel and participation in various aspects of student research.The Research Associate 2 also holds distinct and significant leadership responsibilities, delegated by the Principal Investigator, in addition to independent research responsibilities as outlined above. Such leadership responsibilities may include on-the-ground supervision of research personnel and/or leadership of the establishment and standardization of novel research activities.
