OverviewOur client is recruiting for a Litigation Law Clerk to join their Commercial Litigation and Construction team. You will be a key member of a dynamic group of lawyers, law clerks and legal support staff, providing the highest level of service to clients, while having the opportunity to cultivate your skills as part of our successful national Commercial Litigation and Construction Group.ResponsibilitiesPlay a critical role in assisting our lawyers with matters relating to all aspects of commercial and construction litigationAssist with construction disputes, including claims related to construction delays, breach of contract and lien enforcement under the Construction ActParticipate in drafting pleadings, document production, the discovery process, preparing motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs and preparing for hearings and trialsBe responsible for matter management and data management, including scoping and budgetingCollaborate and contribute as an important member of the team and provide unwavering commitment to excellent client serviceCore Experience & Skills3-5 years’ experience in law firm environment, preferably in litigation law clerk role(s)Strong knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Civil ProcedureCollege Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks Ontario Certificate, University degree is an assetExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent ability to take direction and work independentlyHighly organized with time management skillsKnowledge of iManage, ACL, Relativity, Kofax PDF, Word, Excel, and OutlookA team player with a strong work ethic and a desire for continuous improvement #J-18808-Ljbffr
