Senior Associate – Individual Inforce Risk Analysis

Position TitleSenior Associate – Individual Insurance Inforce Risk AnalysisWhat you will be doingAnswer complex policyholder queries, including policyholder taxation and actuarial inforce policy issuesIdentify potential gaps, omissions or activities that could expose the organization to unnecessary operational riskReview processes and procedures followed by the Individual Insurance Actuarial Inforce and Policy Tax teamRecommend changes to processes and procedures as appropriateProactively recommend and, if approved, implement innovative solutions to enhance accuracy, streamline workflows, and drive operational efficiencyProvide subject matter expertise on actuarial inforce and policyholder taxation (including participation in projects)Ensure exempt test processes are appropriate and applied properly for all inforce individual insurance policies and recommend needed modificationsReview and verify tax slips before submission to clientsReview and sign‑off on system changes and operational procedures and processes with respect to actuarial inforce policy calculations and policyholder taxationDevelop and maintain tools to support actuarial inforce business and policyholder taxationEnsure calculation and rate integrity of inforce illustration systemsWhat you will bringUniversity degree, preferably in Physics, Mathematics, or FinanceExcellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skillsKeen attention to detail and curiosity about you doExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsFocus on providing excellent service to clientsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VBASolid knowledge of SQLSolid knowledge of a coding language (e.g. Python, C, C++)Strong negotiation, collaboration and decision‑making skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and deadlines for various stakeholdersKnowledge of individual insurance products is an assetKnowledge of Automation Suite Tools (e.g. Pyautogui, Selenium) is an assetWhat’s in it for youCareer Growth: Regular learning sessions and development opportunitiesTotal Rewards: Incentive pay, annual salary reviews, employer‑paid benefits and pension matchingTime Away: Competitive vacation plus one paid volunteer day each yearFlexibility: Healthy work‑life balance with employee wellness, complemented by a “dress for your day” approachPosition DetailsReports To: Director, Individual Insurance Actuarial Inforce and Policy TaxDepartment: Individual InsuranceTerm: Permanent Full-TimeWork Arrangements: Hybrid role – Waterloo, ON, two office days per week plus a fifth day per month #J-18808-Ljbffr
