You will manage the delivery of all HSE activities in a manufacturing facility or commercial areas (offices, sales, warehouses). This includes standards & procedures, capability processes, reporting, compliance and audit. You will define and review standards and legislation applicable to the site, validate HSE design for projects and modifications, and support work processes (e.g., IIM pillar) to improve HSE application and effectiveness. You will map all applicable legislation and internal standards, ensure ongoing compliance and maintain relationships with the legal department and local authorities. How You Will Contribute Co‑ordinate implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build consensus on annual plans for facility/function‑wide HSE initiatives. Plan, budget and control annual capital budget for HSE to enable execution of the HSE plan and adherence to all internal and external compliance standards. Provide HSE expertise for the facility/function for all new projects and change‑management activities. Ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow‑ups are implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents, asset losses that might cause harm to employees, contractors or visitors. Ensure the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning and support development and learning capabilities of safety specialists. Ensure facility standards are in compliance with company and governmental/community regulations. Ensure training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety‑perfect culture and to ensure safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization. What You Will Bring Experience as an HSE practitioner preferably within a manufacturing or commercial environment. Demonstrated experience managing a team, change management and project management. Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Experience with Health and Safety audit experience. More About This Role We are looking to hire an HSE Manager with the ability to work onsite at the Hamilton plant (hybrid/remote work is not available). Required Experience Background in manufacturing. Experience in people management (direct reports or cross‑functionally). Experience with Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S). Education / Certifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CSP, CRSP, or equivalent are desirable but not mandatory. Job Specific Requirements Develop, implement and maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Provide strategic and tactical leadership from an HSE perspective to support business performance. Develop and deploy strategies to reduce HSE risks at the facility. Manage and mentor site HSE team. Promote and foster a culture of safety, wellbeing and environmental sustainability across the plant. Drive innovations and excellence by creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations. Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Provide training and support to employees on safety protocols and best practices. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of operations. Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management. Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance. Act as company representative in dealings with regulatory agencies on HSE matters. Travel Requirements Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences or site visits. Work Schedule Full‑time position. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility to address urgent issues as needed. No relocation support available.
