We are now seeking an experienced, dedicated and passionate HSE Advisor to join our innovative and dynamic team and continue to build on the success of our safety program. The HSE Advisor will develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures. You will work in cooperation with management, field employees and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees/OHS Worker Representative to ensure our corporate, project and regulatory HSE commitments are met. Responsibilities: The role involves actively promoting awareness of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program while fostering a proactive and positive safety culture across all levels of the organization. A key responsibility includes facilitating workplace safety and environmental inspections, such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Task Hazard Analysis (THA), Toolbox Talks, and Safe Work Observations across all projects. This includes tracking corrective actions and maintaining thorough documentation. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating safety meetings for both office and field staff, supporting management and supervisors in ensuring that all tasks are completed in compliance with corporate and project-specific HSE requirements. Conducting new hire safety orientations and performing regular inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE), lifting equipment, and other safety-related tools will be an integral part of the job. Ensuring that follow-up actions from inspections, audits, and investigations are documented and completed is essential. The role also includes participating in loss prevention initiatives and routinely observing on-site tasks to ensure adherence to all HSE standards. The candidate will assist with internal and external audits, including regulatory and COR audits, and help identify HSE training needs, scheduling appropriate safety training for all staff. Additional duties include supporting the collection, tracking, and analysis of HSE performance indicators, as well as preparing and presenting detailed reports. The HSE Advisor will participate in incident investigations, providing thorough analysis and documentation of findings. Completing HSE task logs and effectively communicating lessons learned from both internal and external investigations to staff are also important aspects of the role. Professional Experience and Qualifications: The successful candidate must have an HSE specific post-secondary degree/diploma or an equivalent level of education. Preference will be given to those with certified safety accreditations such as NCSO or CRSP, or progress towards. A strong knowledge of the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Act and regulations, as well as safety regulations relevant to Ontario construction, is essential. The candidate must be able to identify critical safety risks associated with tank construction, including hazards related to rigging, working at heights, hot work, and confined space entry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software is required, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary, along with well-developed presentation and public speaking abilities.
