LTO EA Level D

We are seeking an Educational Assistant (EA) / Career & Youth Worker (CYW) for the Waterloo Region District School Board. This position is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association and external applicants. The role is a current vacancy and is only applicable to applicants who do not already have a permanent/LTO Level D assignment that would conflict with this posting. All LTO assignments are subject to a revised end date with two‑weeks notice. Eligibility Staff already in an LTO are not eligible to apply if it conflicts with their current LTO. A condition of employment as an EA/CYW requires passing a Physical Demands test. All job offers are conditional upon passing all components of this test for candidates who do not already have Permanent/LTO Level D hours. Qualifications Certified Teachers Educational Assistant Diploma or Educational Support Diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution Developmental Service Worker (DSW) from an accredited post‑secondary institution Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from an accredited post‑secondary institution Social Services Diploma (SSW) from an accredited post‑secondary institution Alternative EA Qualifications with Experience *** Post‑secondary degree in Sociology from an accredited post‑secondary institution AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special‑needs children. In lieu of relevant experience the Board may consider significant volunteer experience. Minimum six‑month diploma in a child‑related discipline AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special‑needs children. In lieu of relevant experience the Board may consider significant volunteer experience. Minimum six‑month certificate in a child‑related discipline AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special‑needs children. This could include but not be limited to programs such as the St. Louis Adult Learning certificate program. In lieu of relevant experience the Board may consider significant volunteer experience. Post‑secondary degree/diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution that is complementary to supporting special‑needs children as solely determined by the Board AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special‑needs children.
