LTO EA Level D

This posting is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association as well as external applicants. It is a current vacancy. Staff already in an LTO are not eligible to apply if it conflicts with their current LTO. All LTO assignments are subject to a revised end date with 2‑weeks notice. Qualifications / Requirements Condition of employment as an EA/CYW requires passing a Physical Demands test. All job offers are conditional on passing all components of this test for candidates without permanent/LTO level D hours. Certified Teachers Educational Assistant Diploma or Educational Support Diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution Developmental Service Worker (DSW) from an accredited post‑secondary institution Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from an accredited post‑secondary institution Social Services Diploma (SSW) from an accredited post‑secondary institution Alternative EA Qualifications with Experience *** Post‑secondary degree in Sociology from an accredited post‑secondary institution AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Minimum six‑month diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution in a child‑related discipline AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Minimum six‑month certificate from an accredited educational institution in a child‑related discipline AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. This could include but is not limited to programs such as the St. Louis Adult Learning certificate program. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Post‑secondary degree/diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution that is complementary to supporting special needs children as solely determined by the Board AND a minimum of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience. Assets Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification. Proven ability and recent experience working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities – strongly preferred and school‑based experience. Autism Spectrum Disorder Training.
