OverviewThe Senior Electrical Designer leads design across project portfolios for Electrical Building Systems engineering for Commercial Buildings. Responsibilities include leading electrical engineering design, client coordination, site review, among other responsibilities.The firm is a US-based, international consulting firm. This is a large, corporate environment where the engineer works with stakeholders across the organization to coordinate and complete projects. This role works with their internal consulting team on multidiscipline buildings engineering projects across Canada.This role is hybrid 3x weekly out of the company's Markham office.Salary: $85 000 to $105 000Logistics: Hybrid in TorontoEssential Job FunctionsPerform field reviews, testing, data collection, design, report, and specification writing.Use a variety of technical methods to solve problems.Perform electrical system condition assessments, including review of service equipment, distribution systems, lighting, life safety systems, and other electrical infrastructure for code compliance, operational performance, and remaining service life.Complete design assignments of limited scope and complexity, as well as design of electrical systems for new construction and retrofit projects in the commercial and high-rise residential sectors (projects like power distribution, life safety, etc.).Provide AutoCAD and Revit support and specification writing.Prepare designs and drawings in accordance with the scope of work and ensure that all required details, materials, methods, etc., are correctly specified.Carry out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed testing analysis, design, or computation methods.Coordinate and conduct site meetings.Ensure project submittals and shop drawings are in compliance with project specifications and drawings.Perform quality observation of work in progress for all services within assigned discipline to ensure compliance with tender documents and applicable codes and standards.Ongoing project management and contract administration of projects.Provide technical assistance to field technicians and technologists.Coordinate input for time billing and job costing.Other assigned duties and tasks, as required.Required Experience, Education and CertificationsCompletion of a degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology with a specialization of Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 5+ years of electrical buildings engineering experience at an engineering consulting firm.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism. #J-18808-Ljbffr
