With over 4,200 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.Position TitlePlant ManagerDivisionDivision: AGI Oak BluffLocationLocation: 74 Main Street, Rosenort, MB R0G 1W0The OpportunityThis role will be responsible for master project schedules in Oracle ERP based on company engineering and production capacity, ensuring 100% accuracy of all schedules, monitoring and tracking of production progress to ensure customer orders are produced for shipments, and to track build out progress. The role will work closely with various team members and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.The TeamThe role will report to the Senior, Director Canadian Farm Manufacturing and will have up to 6 direct reports.ResponsibilitiesProactively work to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe all governmental, regional and company safety and health regulations.Operational planning and action implementation to meet yearly business goals and longer-term strategic targets.Chair weekly planning and monitoring sessions between production and Sales Execution to ensure customer on-time weekly delivery targets are met.Communicate and provide leadership to ensure achievement of plant objectives, accountable for daily activities to ensure high performance and production at all times.Delivering good quality product, safely, on time and to cost, including availability of raw materials (MRP), production, inventory, and shipping.Provide direction, development and leadership to management and supervisory staff.Responsible for implementation of the AGI Business Operating System.Constantly strive to reduce costs via OPEX / Lean / cost reduction / process improvement activities, be a lean champion and a lean ‘cheerleader’. Demonstrate Lean Leadership – educate, ask questions, drive implementation, and conduct weekly Gemba walks.Develop/maintain positive employee relations & resolution of employee concerns.Fully align to the Corporate and Business Strategic Plans and Objectives, and build the annual manufacturing budget, track performance and update forecasts as needed. Represent the plant in Monthly Ops Reviews.Ensure revenue recognition using percentage of completion is being followed under IFRS guidelines. Driving processes to continually review project performance vs expectations, working with project managers and leadership.Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.Travel to jobsites or AGI manufacturing centers when necessary.Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsUniversity degree in engineering/agriculture/commerce degree or equivalent experience.10+ years’ experience in a Senior Production or Operations Management role preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience/understanding of Lean manufacturing & Continuous Improvement processes.Work well in a collaborative environment with demonstrated success, building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues, while demonstrating strategic thinking and leadership.Strong business analysis and reporting capabilities, ability to keep information very confidential and take initiative and ownership for customer service and is a self-starter who is motivated internally to set high standards of performance.Ability to think analytically and make accurate and timely decisions.Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 10% of the time.What We OfferCompetitive compensation.Day shift: Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.Employee Bonus Program.On the job training and advancement opportunities.Great company and team culture.Health, Dental Benefits and Life Insurance.RRSP/DPSP matching and Employee Stock Purchase Plan with match.Short/Long term disability.Equal Employment OpportunityAGI is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
