K-Tec Earthmovers, a leader in the heavy equipment manufacturing industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled **CAD Operator** to join our engineering team. The CAD Operator will play a key role in creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for complex mechanical systems and components used in heavy machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in CAD software to work on high-impact projects in the construction, mining, and industrial equipment sectors.

As a CAD Operator, you will collaborate with engineers and designers to transform concepts into precise drawings and models, ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks)
- Work closely with engineers to develop design concepts, generate drawings, and incorporate feedback into the design process.
- Create and maintain product drawings, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards and specifications.
- Assist in the modification and revision of existing designs based on engineering changes or manufacturing requirements.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company design standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production, including understanding material properties and fabrication processes.
- Maintain organized files of all technical drawings and related documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Support the engineering team in other tasks, such as preparing design documentation and assisting with prototype development.
- Stay current with industry trends and new technologies to improve CAD practices and enhance design capabilities.

**Qualifications**:

- Associate’s degree or diploma in Drafting, CAD Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficient in CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing principles, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience creating 3D models and technical drawings for complex mechanical assemblies and parts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and production teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) or data management systems.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques, welding processes, and material properties.
- Knowledge of design standards and industry regulations (e.g., ISO, ANSI).

**Working Conditions**:

- This position typically operates in an office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing plant.
- Occasional travel may be required to customer sites, supplier sites or other company facilities.
- The role may require lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds.
