Your hands-on management approach and strong leadership skills will empower others to reach their professional aspirations, promoting a dynamic and motivating team environment.Your responsibilities will include:Managing a complex corporate restructuring portfolio, and in so doing, effectively manage engagement files, including overseeing a professional, technical, and administrative teamAssessing the viability of diverse business entities across various industriesProviding oversight and control of business operations and asset salesEvaluating complex business issues and formulate recommendations for the Court and various stakeholders to maximize creditor recoveries, while maintaining the business viability where possible.Prepare written reports for the Court and other stakeholders, in accordance with the mandate of the file.Work closely with legal counsel to handle the legal elements of each restructuring mandateStakeholder communication and negotiation – effectively interact with stakeholders with diverse interests on file engagements (creditors, debtors, lawyers, lenders, etc.) for creditors and legal inquiriesBuilding and maintaining positive relationships with other corporate restructuring professionals including lawyers, regulators, investors and representatives of lending institutions. Actively participate in industry organizations, events, firm marketing initiatives generate new corporate restructuring mandates and build a strong practice in BCFinancial Oversight - Tracking project progress, milestones, and deadlines, reviewing invoices, preparing payments and handling trust account duties; preparing summary of receipts and disbursements for trust accountsMaintaining a high level of professional competence and staying current with in all technical and legal elements of a corporate restructuring practiceRisk Management - Adhere to all firm risk management policies and take proactive steps to minimize the risk exposure to the firm.Ad Hoc projects utilizing your accounting skills and business acumen in a variety of unique, challenging, one-off, real-time assignmentsThink you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Manager, Restructuring? Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:EducationCompletion of a Bachelor’s or advanced level degree (Masters) and professional accounting designation (CPA)Completion of a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) Qualification Program and a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) or entering the program to be designatedExperience and Attributes:5+ years of advisory experience in a Canadian professional services firm, leading and conducting complex restructuring and insolvency proceedingsInsolvency Expertise: Possess comprehensive knowledge of all insolvency proceedings.Financial Acumen: Understands key performance indicators and financial reporting.Proficiency in File Acquisition/File Administration and File ClosureDemonstrated client development skills with a focus on building relationships and actively anticipating client and market needs. Enjoys the social aspect of marketing to key targets.Nurture alumni connections: Strengthen your professional network by maintaining relationships with alumni.Actively participate in professional, industry or community organization eventsExpand brand reach: Develop connections with bankers, lawyers, trustees, credit counsellors, and other potential referral sources to promote firmEthical Compliance: Uphold the firm’s ethical standards and code of conduct for Trustees.Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the team and the broader Advisory practiceDesire to learn and grow, and be an integral part of a team that puts “we before me”, where agility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your backAt Doane Grant Thornton we’re focused on making a difference in the lives of our clients, our colleagues and our communities. To get the conversation started, we’re pleased to share that our current base salary for this role ranges from $90,000-$178,000, plus profit sharing, Flex days, RRSP contributions, firmwide holiday closures, wellness and concierge-like benefits, and an opportunity to work from anywhere in Canada for four weeks during the summer, and so much moreOur special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person.
