Join us in shaping the future of financial services in rural Saskatchewan while building a career you can truly take pride in.Role and Responsibilities:We are currently seeking a highly analytical and relationship-focused Credit Risk Specialist to join our Credit team on a full-time term basis. This term is anticipated to extend until October 2027. Reporting to the Manager Credit Risk, this role is key to preserving the financial health of Prosperity Credit Union while maintaining strong and respectful member relationships. This role is eligible to work from any Prosperity Service location, and we are open to discussing flexible work location arrangements within the region.As a Credit Risk Specialist, you will:Communicate directly with members regarding collections, impaired loans, and foreclosed propertiesFacilitate negotiations and support members in developing sustainable repayment strategiesConduct comprehensive file reviews and assess financial history, days past due, and payment behaviorRecommend appropriate allowances for impaired loans, write-offs, and support internal processes for resolutionSupport Strategic Recovery and Risk MitigationAnalyze risk exposure and recommend proactive recovery strategies tailored to individual portfoliosServe as a subject matter expert and internal resource on financial recovery and collectionsTrack and document all member communications to ensure clear, accountable processesMonitor effectiveness of collection strategies and provide feedback to management for continuous improvementChampion Member ExperienceMaintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions, even when navigating complex debt recovery situationsEnsure transparency and uphold member dignity while guiding them toward improved financial healthPromote trust and collaboration, even in challenging situations, to maintain strong long-term relationshipsQualifications:Post-secondary degree in finance or a related field, or equivalent education and experiencePrevious experience in consumer, commercial, and agricultural lending preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong member-first mindsetProven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive conversations with tactStrong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detailAbility to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environmentEffective problem-solving and sound judgment under pressureAbility to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teamsPerks and Benefits:Generous paid vacation and sick days to support employee health and well-beingCollaborative work environmentPlanned retirement for targeted management and specialist positionsPaid days off for volunteering and professional development coursesPreferred loan/deposit rates and service packagesRelocation bonuses and reimbursement for eligible employeesStaff and corporate eventsProsperity Credit Union is committed to inclusion, and we honor and celebrate everyone’s diverse experiences and perspectives.
