Senior Manager, Finance (Controller) (Finance) (English Services) (Telework/Hybrid) CBC Local Services Finance is looking for a Senior Manager, Controller, Finance to join the CBC Atlantic Regional team. Based in Halifax, you will lead the Atlantic Region Finance team, working closely with program and operations leaders to provide professional counseling and advice that supports both local and corporate strategies. Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance – Local Services, you will manage day‑to‑day financial activities for CBC News and Radio programming and operations. Key Areas Of Responsibility Manage and execute Atlantic Region annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and business reporting. Analyze business operations, including monthly and quarterly expenditure tracking, budget variances, and recommend actions to maintain budget integrity; present results to Senior Director, Finance and Regional Director. Provide guidance on cost‑effective production schedules to meet program objectives. Support complex projects such as Federal and Provincial Elections and the technical aspects tied to live event production. Interpret, explain, and report on business management issues to Senior Management and program producers. Adapt the Finance support role to meet evolving business needs. Manage competing priorities for resources and identify incremental funding requirements. Streamline processes by reducing non‑value‑add workflows, maximizing analytical support. Work with Human Resources and Business Affairs to ensure staffing and contracting comply with labour agreements, CBC policies and industry practices. Qualifications Relevant university degree combined with a professional accounting designation (CPA CA, CPA, CMA, CPA CGA). 5+ years of progressive experience in a relevant financial role. Experience working in a Senior Management team structure. Strong strategic management and leadership ability. Ability to lead and manage a team through change. Excellent time‑management skills to manage multiple projects under tight timelines. Experience in managing internal and external business relationships with a client‑focus orientation. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of SAP and BI is an asset. Experience in media or communications is an asset. Travel to Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island required. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
