Senior Manager, Finance (Controller) Join CBC/Radio‑Canada’s Atlantic Regional team as Senior Manager, Controller, managing the financial strategy and operations for Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities Manage and execute Atlantic Region annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and business reporting. Provide detailed analysis of business operations, including monthly and quarterly expenditure tracking, budget variances, and recommend actions to maintain budget integrity; present results to Senior Director, Finance and Regional Director. Offer guidance on cost‑effective production schedules to achieve overall program objectives. Provide financial support and guidance for complex projects such as Federal and Provincial Elections and live‑event production. Interpret, explain, and report on business management issues to Senior Management and Program Producers. Adapt the Finance support role to partner with business and operations, providing analytic support that anticipates future requirements. Manage competing priorities for resources and identify incremental funding requirements; interpret programming requirements in budgetary and human‑resource terms. Review and streamline processes by reducing non‑value‑add and redundant workflows to maximize analytical and business support. Collaborate with Human Resources and Business Affairs to ensure staffing and contracting comply with agreed terms and CBC policies. Lead expert and key contact for SAP/BW inquiries and CBC Policies, including Procurement, Travel, and Employment. Adopt and adapt new financial analytic tools, leveraging BW and TM1 to automate workflows and respond to reporting needs. Support the Senior Director Finance, Local Services on consolidated files and reporting. Recruit, select, mentor, and develop four staff members. Play a leadership role within the extended English Services Finance and One Finance teams, contributing to the Finance team mandate and objectives. Collaborate within the Local Services Finance team to share best practices, standardize processes, maximize technology opportunities, and mentor colleagues. Qualifications Relevant university degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA CA, CPA, CMA, CPA CGA). 5+ years of progressive experience within a relevant financial role. Experience working effectively in a Senior Management team structure. Demonstrated strategic management and leadership ability. Strong ability to develop, lead, and manage a team through change. Excellent time‑management skills to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Proven experience in managing internal and external business relationships with a client‑focus orientation. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of SAP and BI is an asset. Experience in media or communications is an asset. Travel to Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island is required.
