Provide direct oversight of 8 Agency Operated Boarding Homes in Brooklyn and Queens for youth who are I/DD and significant mental health diagnosis.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic models of care.
  2. Develop and implement trauma-informed practices in residential programs.
  3. Assist in the implementation of the Family First Initiative.
  4. Assure regulatory compliance with relevant City/State mandates.
  5. Assure financial integrity of all programs.
  6. Develop and maintain a coherent organizational environment.
  7. Promote and assure superior casework services.
  8. Lobby and collaborate to assure adequate and professional clinical services.
  9. Create and maintain program milieus that are safe, caring, and therapeutic.
  10. Develop systems, modalities, protocols, and interventions that assure healthy child development, good daily routine, effective limit setting, and a broad range of activity and enrichment opportunities.
  11. Assure professional group living services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  12. Provide oversight for staff scheduling and daily programming.
  13. Serve on Agency Administrative Council.
  14. Serve on Agency Wide Behavior Management Committee.
  15. Oversee the recruitment and selection of all new program staff.
  16. Responsible for the direct supervision of clinical, medical, casework, and managerial staff.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

Internally: Interfaces with casework staff, program management staff, quality improvement staff, and other administrative support departments.

Externally: Interfaces with ACS Family Team Conference Coordinators as needed; interfaces with youth, family, and community members (including ACS staff, law guardians and their representatives, other invited guests) during FTC (Family Team Conference) meetings.

In addition, employees need to possess the following characteristics:

  1. Be team players, working with Administrative and Managerial staff and Supervisory and Line staff.
  2. Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization.
  3. Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change; forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families.
  4. Ability to set limits and maintain helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately.
