The Role The Production Manager must ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently, with the right quality, quantity, and cost, and on time to satisfy internal and external customers. The scope includes process and batch production using LEAN concepts to eliminate waste. Minimum Qualifications 5 years of directly related experience Project management skills Leadership and interpersonal skills Experience with LEAN manufacturing and its concepts Experience working with a unionized workforce Ability to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines Must be authorized to work in Canada Must have a valid Canada driver’s licence Responsibilities Planning, coordinating, and controlling industrial processes; responsible for human and material resources. Involved in pre‑production (planning) and production (control and supervision) stages. Involved with product design and purchasing; collaborate daily with planners, controllers, engineers, and supervisors. Communicate and implement change as directed. Lead a unionized environment. Health and safety compliance in accordance with company policy. Provide leadership by setting clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety consciousness. Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures and practices. Supervise all staff under direct or indirect control. Administration duties to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved. Train and monitor staff in SOPs and safe work practices, including new employee inductions and toolbox talks. Continuously monitor manufacturing process performance through KPIs focused on capacity utilization. Implement and maintain Lean Principles and develop the team towards autonomous Kaizen teams. Standardize and sustain the lean organization structure through Tier Meetings, Team Boards, Standard Work Visual Controls & Gemba Walk. Use A3 reports and problem‑solving tools to manage cost‑savings and downtime reduction projects. Execute strategic projects such as cellular layout, plant leveling, and lead time reduction.
