OverviewBridge Games Instructor (Part-Time) role at Granite Club. The Granite Club is Canada’s premier private Members' club offering athletic facilities, events and dining. We are seeking a part-time Bridge Instructor who will direct Bridge games and instruct group classes at various levels of Bridge ability.Primary ResponsibilitiesBridge Game Directing: Set up table cards, bidding boxes, bridgemates and computer software; greet each member, distribute Bridge entries, ensure pencils and convention cards are available, make game-related announcements, distribute boards and ensure punctual progression of the game; resolve all Director calls professionally; keep a copy of the ACBL Laws book; print and announce winners by stratification; print individual summaries as requested; pack and return all Bridge equipment to storage; upload game results to ACBL Live and leave a hard copy in the assigned folder.Bridge Instruction: Prepare detailed lesson plans for each lesson; obtain class lists and maintain accurate attendance records; ensure the Card and Games Room is set up properly; prepare lesson handouts; answer questions from Members professionally; ensure all equipment is put away at the end of each lesson; perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMember of the ACBLPrevious ACBL Duplicate directing experienceExperience instructing various levels of classesCertified ACBL teacherSolid written and verbal communication skillsExcellent Member relations and problem-solving abilitiesStrong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple prioritiesComputer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, E-mail, PowerPointProficient in using ACBL softwareCommunity college or university degree an assetMembership in ABTA and/or Best Practices teaching certificate an assetAbout The Granite ClubThe Granite philosophy of uncompromising quality is showcased in its state-of-the-art athletic facilities, world-class events and programs for all ages, delectable dining experiences and personalized services, each tailored to suit the varied needs and desires of its diverse and sophisticated Membership.
