We have a great opportunity for an Environmental Engineer - Remediation in a Project Engineering Design and Construction role, specializing in contaminated sites to support our North American team. The hiring team is based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario and focuses on environmental assessments, risk assessments, risk management planning and implementation, and remedial design and implementation for public and private sector clients across Canada and the US. Key Responsibilities Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions. Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; define feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions. Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks. Identify risky behavior patterns and take action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate. Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs. Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities through assessment and development planning, training, coaching, and by maintaining external professional accreditation where relevant. Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards. Research: Carry out research activities to support others or to fulfill role requirements. Waste Management: Lead waste projects or supervise areas of the organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective reduction, segregation, and disposal of waste. Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships using relevant sales or client systems. Education Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Possession of P.Eng. designation to be used to stamp/certify designs. (Mandatory) P.E. designation in US is considered an asset. Experience 5+ years experience developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management. Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, designs including drawings and specifications, and construction support for environmental remediation projects in Canada and the US. Experience and desire to provide high-profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions. Experience working on Canadian and/or US Federal projects is considered an asset. Proven experience in client advocacy while developing trusted relationships with regulators. Strong understanding of Canadian (including Ontario) environmental legislation. Understanding US environmental legislation is considered an asset. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report-writing skills. Strong commitment to client service excellence.
