OverviewOn Call Math & Science Tutor sought by Oxford Learning Centres Inc. (New Westminster, BC). This part-time role supports Gr6-12 math and science tutoring with in-centre and online teaching, following Oxford Learning methodologies.Responsibilities (Position Details)Teach up to 3 students at a time, at different levels, in-person and onlineFollow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesFill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updatesMaintain a friendly, professional demeanor at all timesWhat You’ll DoDirectly work with students as an Interactive CoachHelp students develop self-confidence and self-esteemContribute to a positive learning environment with high student engagementQualificationsBachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered) Teaching certification is an assetStrong knowledge of Grades 1-12 math and science curricula, including senior math (Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus) and science subjects (vectors, physics, chemistry, biology)Experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 1-12 levelStrong English communication skills and ability to guide student understandingRequirementsAvailable during after-school and evening hours (3:00pm – 8:00pm) and some Saturdays and SundaysIn-person role; ability to commute to New Westminster location; relocation not providedVulnerable sector screening is mandatoryJob DetailsJob Type: Part-timeSalary: $20 - $23 / hourSchedule: Evenings; Monday to Friday; some weekend availabilityAbout Oxford LearningOxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students improve grades since 1984.
