Job Description In this position, you will uphold compliance with tax regulations and optimise tax processes for employees on international assignments. Your core goal is to reduce tax‑related risks and costs while ensuring compliance with local tax laws. Responsibilities Accurately prepare, review, and file tax returns for globally mobile employees within deadlines. Offer specialised advice and strategic recommendations on tax planning, withholding responsibilities, and social security contributions. Collaborate with finance and HR to ensure precise payroll tax calculations and reporting. Provide tax advice on assignment structures, leveraging treaties, and identifying tax‑efficient benefits. Educate employees on their tax responsibilities and implications of international assignments. Guide employees on tax equalisation and protection policies, ensuring clarity and compliance. Analyse compensation and payroll data to calculate liabilities and highlight benefits. Prepare supporting documentation to optimise employees’ tax positions, including data analysis and communication with assignees. Maintain detailed tax records for audit readiness. Stay informed on international tax law developments. Compile and present tax reports to management, auditors, and authorities. Identify cross‑functional issues and collaborate with Tax SMEs for integrated solutions. Conduct in‑depth research on country‑specific tax matters for regions where we operate. Act as primary client contact for employees on business trips, delivering exceptional support. Regularly communicate with clients on trip assessments and address concerns. Collaborate with clients to implement Global Mobility Tax strategies. Identify fresh business prospects within the existing client base. Expand client portfolio and nurture relationships to drive revenue growth. Analyse market trends and competitive landscape to spot growth opportunities. Qualifications Proven expertise in Canadian & US individual tax planning for employee cross‑border movement, including foreign national and expatriate issues. Strong knowledge of foreign tax compliance, tax equalisation, and managing international assignee populations. Ability to understand individual tax compliance, planning, and expatriate tax program policy design. Experience managing client engagements, preparing accurate documents, and balancing project economics. Effective team leadership, workload monitoring, and client expectation management. Deliver timely, candid feedback and keep leadership informed of progress. Research business and industry trends to develop actionable insights. Experience with automation & digitisation in professional services, including data visualization tools. Exposure to pricing, client value and negotiation, including contract review. Bachelor’s degree (or related field such as Business Administration, Economics, Finance, International Business, Quantitative Finance). Minimum 3 years of experience. Additional Information This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days per week in the office (Montreal).
