Reporting to the Vice President Insurance Services The Group Benefits & Retirement Advisor is responsible for the sales and marketing of group programs and the ongoing growth and maintenance of an existing portfolio of plan sponsors and programs. Group offerings include, but are not limited to: Group RRSPs, Group TFSAs, Group Life/Health/Dental plans, Defined Contribution Pension Plans, Pooled Registered Pension Plans, Deferred Profit-Sharing Plans, and the promotion of payroll solutions. What You’ll Be Doing Work collaboratively across all credit union delivery channels to build strong relationships and provide value-added advice and solutions to business members. Generate sustainable business growth through the acquisition and retention of employer-sponsored benefit programs. Convert business opportunities into revenue, collaborate with internal partners to expand market reach, and support activity tracking and reporting. Deliver an advice-based experience that strengthens sponsor loyalty and employee engagement, turning complex benefits into simple, valued solutions. Contribute to operational effectiveness by ensuring compliance, maintaining industry knowledge, and advocating for improvements to systems, tools, workflows, and product offerings. Proactively look for opportunities to build and progress the line of business, leading projects to continuously improve and elevate the group benefits and retirement solutions area. Efficiently administer plans, from enrollment through to service delivery and potential de-boarding, enhancing process efficiency. Strengthen organizational capability by fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and awareness across internal teams, supporting team development through mentorship. Serve as an ambassador for the Group Benefits & Retirement Solutions team, initiating and leading increased awareness, education, and engagement. What You Bring Your expertise in group benefits or retirement programs will enable you to deliver advice that businesses trust. Bring your passion for building relationships and driving results. Experience And Education Minimum of 5 years’ experience in group benefits, retirement programs, pension plans, or financial services, ideally within a credit union, bank, or insurance environment. University degree or college diploma in business or equivalent combination of experience and industry designations. Demonstrated success in business development, prospecting, and converting leads into new business opportunities. Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with business members, plan sponsors, and referral partners. Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply this knowledge when evaluating program performance and recommending improvements. Licenses And Certifications Completion of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and ability to be life licensed in a mutually agreed time frame. Employee Benefit Industry related designations such as CEBS specialty designations, RPA, and GBA, with willingness to complete within a mutually agreed time frame. Mutual Funds License, Financial planning designation (CFP, PFP, FMA) or other industry designations are an asset.
