The Opportunity The purpose of this position is to review, analyze, evaluate and negotiate complex and catastrophic claims related to Property claims within the field. The incumbent is responsible for investigating losses, when necessary, as well as assigning the appropriate relevant experts to assist in the effective management and resolution of the claim. Who You Are Can travel regularly within Eastern Ontario with your own vehicle, and insurance. Create and maintain active working relationships within other cross functional claims lines. Engaged in mentoring relationships with adjusters and displays a high level of employee engagement. Open-Minded, understanding and a good problem solver. How You Will Create An Impact Investigate moderate complexity claims by meeting with insureds at their residence, business or farm, including third parties, contractors and lawyers in order to obtain facts and information. Review facts, policy wordings, experts’ reports and case law, to make decisions on coverage, value of the claim and negotiate/settle the claim within established financial authority. Accountable for claims at all transaction levels including coverage interpretation, evaluation, reserve adjustments, payments. Acts as coordinator for ensuring appropriate resources are utilized in the effective resolution of claims. Proactively manages claim escalations and takes appropriate action where necessary. Provide exceptional member service and answer inquiries relating to the claims process. What You Will Bring Completion of Post-Secondary Education and a minimum of five years of insurance, preferably in claims, is required. Candidate with the ability to scope damages and prepare an estimate for repairs using Xactimate is preferred. Candidate with IICRC certifications or working knowledge of same is preferred. Working towards or completion of CIP designation is preferred. Proven superior organizational skills and ability to multitask is required. Thorough attention to detail is a must to ensure accuracy of claims documents. Effective communication skills: verbal, non-verbal and written. Superior problem-solving skills and negotiation skills.
