Commercial Director

Commercial Director – Gaming Portfolio Location: Montreal or NYC (On site) or Canada/US (remote). Salary: 100k-200k + bonus and health benefits. Valnet is hiring a Commercial Director for its Gaming portfolio of publications to spearhead its commercialization program. The Commercial Director is responsible for driving all commerce-related initiatives by identifying and managing new revenue opportunities, including but not limited to the creation of high-intent sales funnels, launching and growing newsletters, running the affiliate program, and creating new IP. Key Responsibilities Identify, grow and manage direct affiliate partnerships for the purpose of generating leads and conversions Launch and monetize high-intent newsletters leveraging specific or all partnerships part of our affiliate network Create high-intent pages with strong sales funnel (must collaborate with performance marketing team and sales pod leadership) Lead the transition from a single-site content model to a multi-product, multi-surface suite (site, newsletters, landing-page funnels, evergreen DB/utility experiences, commerce hubs) Define and maintain a modular roadmap for reusable features, templates, and growth products Own front-end templates and on-site UX as revenue products, with accountability for RPM, CVR, and retention Ensure strong internal linking and funnel flows into commerce and premium experiences Oversee newsletter programming, segmentation, QA, scheduling, and optimization Build growth loops for list acquisition across web and social surfaces Integrate commerce and sponsorship placements while preserving audience trust Partner with commerce editors to align content formats with user intent and conversion performance Ensure link integrity, tracking accuracy, and performance reporting by template and query group Define commerce content formats and standards that reduce decision friction and improve conversion Partner with editorial leaders to prioritize and expand high-performing shopping franchises Act as a partial bridge between Product/Editorial and Direct Sales: Support integrated sponsorship builds spanning site + newsletters + commerce hubs Own and expand fully-launched, repeatable business offerings (e.g., commerce hubs, seasonal deal franchises, newsletter SKUs, evergreen DB verticals, landing-page packages) Qualifications 5-10 years of experience in e-commerce, digital publishing, performance marketing, editorial operations, audience development, or a related field Proven experience launching and growing commerce initiatives at scale Experience with subscription models and sponsorship monetizationEditorial judgment and ability to collaborate across multiple brands Understanding of legal and compliance requirements for email and paid content Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Benefits Full health insurance plan (including medical, dental, and vision) Daily on-site snacks & coffee Fitness subscription reimbursement program Competitive salary.
