This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Technician to join our expanding Homecare team. Main duties of the job To have an understanding of the homecare pathway, from deciding appropriateness of homecare registering patients, through to final processing of invoices.Work in accordance of the homecare pathway to support the clinical teams with their homecare serviceTo process authorise and receipt Homecare deliveries on the pharmacy systemWork in accordance with and develop services in line with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Standards for Homecare.To be a point of contact within the Trust regarding medicines home delivery service for Homecare companies, Pharmacists, Clinicians, Purchasers, Contracting and Finance.Co-ordinate the pharmacy homecare medicines service, prioritise and manage the workload and resolve problems as they arise.Liaise with homecare service providers to review and prepare service level agreements for implementation within the Trust.Support service review meetings for homecare medicines management working closely with homecare companies, pharmacists, nurses, doctors, other healthcare staff and patients.To assist the Pharmacy Homecare Manager in the governance of Homecare through policy and protocol developmentAssist the Homecare Pharmacy Service Manager in maintaining and reporting of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Ensure all patient related information is secure and complies with current guidance for information governance. Job responsibilities To support and assist the Pharmacy Homecare Service Manager and Medicines Effectiveness Pharmacist in cost effective procurement and delivery of Homecare medicines and services for the OUH NHS Foundation Trust (OUH). To develop and support the pharmacy Homecare service at the OUH to develop services for the safe and timely supply of medicines to patients via third party homecare companies by establishing robust methods of managing the administrative work, monitoring homecare providers performance. Co-ordinate and communicate with clinical pharmacists integrated into service to implement and manage existing homecare services. Person Specification PERSONAL SPECIFICATION Qualified pharmacy technician (NVQ3) pharmaceutical sciences or other relevant qualificationRegistered with General Pharmaceutical Council as a registered technicianExperience working in one or more aspects of medicines management in hospitalGood all round understanding of medicines management and the pharmacy serviceExperience working with Pharmacy Computer SystemsAbility to plan and direct own work, use initiative and attention to detailDemonstrable ability to collect and critically analyse dataGood IT skills, including database and Excel, equivalent to RSA Level 3.Enthusiasm for using IT and developing new skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and rapport with colleaguesGood oral and written communication and presentation skills with staff at all levels of the organisationGood time management skills and a demonstrable ability to plan and deliver a project to tight deadlinesTakes responsibility for work and delivers work on time to professional standardsAble to work under pressure and meet deadlinesDemonstrable experience of training and supervision of staffAn NVQ AssessorExperience of working a in a pharmacy homecare settingInterest in formulary managementFormal project management trainingDemonstrable ability to develop and implement policies and proceduresProven influencing and negotiating skills Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
