C++ Senior Software Engineer
Markham , ON

This Software Engineer - Legacy Product Support Engineer will be responsible for providing support and ongoing maintenance, bug fixing, and improvements. The candidate will need to navigate complex code, conduct reverse engineering, and work collaboratively with the existing team to understand the application architecture.
Responsibilities
Programming Languages: C++/C#
Day-to-day tasks include code review, feature development, maintenance, and bug fixing
Weekly meetings with the team to discuss project status and any blocking points
Day-to-Day Tasks:
Work with the team to understand the product and application, including documentation and code reviews
Develop new features (50%) and perform maintenance, bug fixing, and improvements (50%)
Interface with testing, validation, and application teams
Conduct code reviews and support testing efforts
Weekly meetings to discuss project status
Must-Have:
Strong proficiency in C++ , C# programming
Extensive experience in reverse engineering
Knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, SSH
Familiarity with the IEC61850 protocol
Experience with databases
Experience with Install Shield and Jenkins
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Detail-oriented and proactive
