OverviewThe Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Finance and will assist operations in processing and analyzing financial data and reviews to drive financial performance and support business partners. The candidate will be responsible for setting up financial data analysis and assisting in the month-end result package, supporting the annual budget process and quarterly forecasts. This position is located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario with a hybrid work model.ResponsibilitiesPeriod End Close & Reporting: Generate reports to facilitate and ensure accuracy of period end close; gather required data fields and compile into standardized reports; facilitate and present month end results to key decision makers.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of the annual budget; prepare budget-to-actual variance analyses with explanations based on investigation and communication with operations staff; prepare monthly forecasts for each home/facility/branch in coordination with operational staff.Management Reporting: Prepare management reporting packages with commentary and support queries for strategic analysis, variances, and KPIs; generate standard and recurring management reports and provide insight and analysis with Finance Business Partner support.Regulatory Reporting: Gather information to prepare required regulatory reporting based on geographic region for assigned facilities; ensure timely submission of government and regulatory reports.Leadership: Build and maintain relationships with business unit operational staff and other finance partners; ensure BU teams follow prescribed accounting systems and procedures; assist with field-related problems impacting accounting/finance; drive process improvements and efficiencies; participate in special projects as required.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting and CPA3–5 years of experience in operations finance and/or accounting-related roleStrong communication skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational, computer, and analytical skills; advanced working knowledge of ExcelAccounting experience with large-scale Enterprise Reporting systems; knowledge of Workday preferredWhat Extendicare Has To OfferContinuous mentorship, support for life-long learning and growth opportunitiesOpportunities for advancement and career growth within the organizationA rewarding and meaningful work experience where you can enrich lives through your workEmployee Family Assistance ProgramRobust benefits packageDetailsTime Type: Full-timeEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: FinanceIndustries: Hospitals and Health CareReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Extendicare.
