The practice leader provides leadership, direction, and professional oversight in a key strategic and clinical practice leadership role. This position works closely with the Manager, Professional Practice and reports directly to the Director, Professional Practice. As an integral Professional Practice Leadership Team member, the practice leader is an innovative clinical expert with leadership, clinical care and academic responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesOverseeing and supervising clinical and professional practice and studentsDeveloping and supporting professional expertise in patient care and education, providing leadership and consultationActing as a resource for staff and other departments within the organizationMentoring and coaching,Monitoring performance and workload,Ensuring the development of quality staff and student orientation and educational programs,Promoting the profession with external partners,Support Health Human Resources initiativesSupport RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) activitiesInternal and external committees as a member or leadManager on-call responsibilitiesWith a focus on quality and patient safety, the practice ensures that the daily delivery of service is provided according to the highest professional practice standards and regulatory requirements and that all aspects of service are fully integrated to meet the needs of those we serve.The practice leader, in collaboration with managers, directors and other practice leaders, works closely with the teams to: develop and integrate professional standards, ensure the integration of patient-centred care into daily practice, and facilitate staff involvement in quality, education and research initiatives.
