Job Description Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a high-energy and dynamic healthcare leader to join its team as Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) in the Vascular Safety and Diagnostic Imaging Program. In this strategic leadership role, the CPL provides leadership, direction, and professional oversight to a dynamic staff team across three main sites. This position reports to the Director of Professional Practice and works closely with programs, directors, managers, and physicians. As a member of the Professional Practice Leadership Team, the CPL is an innovative clinical expert with leadership, clinical care, and academic responsibilities. The CPL oversees and supervises clinical and professional practice and supports professional development in patient care and education by providing leadership and consultation, mentoring, coaching, and monitoring performance and workload, ensuring quality staff and student educational programs along with manager on-call responsibilities. With a focus on quality and patient safety, the CPL ensures services are delivered to highest professional practice standards and regulatory requirements, and that all aspects of services are integrated to meet patient needs. In consultation with managers, directors and other practice leaders, the CPL helps develop professional standards, facilitates patient-centred care, supports quality, education and research initiatives, and aligns professional goals with SHN and profession standards. The CPL also promotes the profession with external partners and acts as a resource for clinical practice matters while leading education and orientation. Responsibilities Provide leadership, direction, and professional oversight to the Vascular Safety and Diagnostic Imaging Program across three sites. Develop and integrate professional standards; promote patient-centred care; participate in quality, education, and research initiatives. Collaborate with managers, directors, and other practice leaders to align goals with SHN strategy and regulatory frameworks. Lead education and orientation and support staff mentoring and coaching; monitor workload and performance. Ensure delivery of services meets professional practice standards and regulatory requirements; integrate services to meet patient needs. Qualifications Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Baccalaureate degree in Nursing Masters Degree (completed or in progress) 2 years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology Knowledge of Vascular Safety Best Practices and Central Line care and maintenance Minimum three years of related clinical experience Current Basic (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Knowledge of adult learning theory, tools, techniques, and principles Familiarity with Quality Based Procedures, Care Pathways and Best Practices Guidelines Familiar with CNO standards and guidelines Project management or program planning experience; Lean and continuous quality improvement preferred Experience developing policies and learning packages for staff and patients Strong mentoring, teaching, organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work under pressure Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills; ability to work with patients, families, and staff Ability to work independently and collaboratively Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel; ICT competency Demonstrated good attendance Commitment to SHN safety programs and ongoing inservice education Commitment to customer service for patients, colleagues, volunteers and the community Asset (preferred) Experience with bedside PICC insertion using ultrasound Critical Care or Post Anesthetic Care experience CNA Certificate Ability to speak another language Instructor status for appropriate certifications Speciality certificates (e.g., Emergency, Critical Care, Operating Room) Experience with electronic documentation and education module development Experience with competency-based learning and assessments RNAO Membership Canadian Nurses Association Certification – Specialty Area(s) Accommodation And Diversity Scarborough Health Network (SHN) embraces and celebrates our diverse community.
