Pediatric Audiologist | BC Early Hearing Program Position Type: Permanent Part Time Location: Kamloops Public Health Unit, Kamloops, BC. Work Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 08:00 to 16:00. What will you work on? Provide clinical audiology services including screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and consultation for assigned clients/target populations; offer work direction to Audiometric Technicians; deliver consultative and educational services to clients and the community; share and demonstrate work methods and processes as required. Deliver programs in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines: select effective methods for identifying individuals with communicative disabilities; prepare reports; participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of identification audiometry and hearing conservation programs for neonates, pre‑school and school children aged 0‑19; consult with school programs; maintain inventory control and records; maintain client and program statistics and data. Provide clinical best‑practice auditory services: assess, evaluate and monitor peripheral and central auditory systems; identify hearing loss and disorders; perform audiological screening and diagnostic re‑assessments; adapt assessment/test procedures; interpret results; record findings; develop and provide appropriate auditory habilitation treatment plans; analyze, evaluate, select, verify, fit, sell hearing devices; provide ongoing monitoring/maintenance; counsel and educate clients/family; generate referrals; refer complex cases to regional diagnostic center; maintain operating condition of equipment. Guide Audiometric Technicians: provide direction, ensure quality and quantity standards, offer orientation and training, participate in selection interviews, input performance to Professional Practice Leader, track expenses and budget feedback. Serve the community and other staff professionals as advisor, consultant, educator: interpret the Audiology Program to community agencies, assist professionals, inform community about services, provide guidance on hearing screening techniques, instruct students during clinical placements; identify, promote and support interdisciplinary practice; participate on committees; conduct research and special projects; apply evidence‑based approaches; maintain and update clinical knowledge; perform related duties as assigned.
