Health and Safety Officer – Winchester City Council Full Time / Permanent – 37 hours per week, based in Winchester. Posted 3 weeks ago. Salary £47,181 – £52,413 per annum. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the Council’s health and safety management system. Write and update health and safety policy, conduct risk assessments and workplace audits. Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences, providing advice and reporting on data trends to senior management. Support the Council’s emergency response and advise on critical incidents. Promote and develop a strong safety culture across the organization. Required Qualifications & Experience NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent qualification. Proven track record of delivering a health and safety management system for a large organisation. Strong written communication skills and ability to produce clear policies and reports. Excellent judgement, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Positive attitude and confidence in engaging with service managers.
