OverviewPurpose Reporting to the Manager, Trade Engagement, this position has oversight of and responsibility for the implementation of Armstrong Collective’s global trade engagement initiatives, industry, and non-traditional partnerships. This includes the management of key account relationships and being the subject matter expert (SME) in relation to all things trade engagement and partnership marketing related. This role supports and executes the strategy and delivery of B2B and non-traditional marketing programs globally, working closely with the broader Marketing and Sales Team, Product and Research & Analytics teams. The goal is to increase brand awareness, consideration and ensure the company reaches and exceeds sales trade rail guest targets. They are involved with cross-functional and often global projects helping deliver key tactical outcomes. The role has oversight and leads on the execution of cross-functional plans and projects such as the Agent Portal, B2B Email program, and TRACKS training program. This individual is responsible for maintaining effective agency relationships and will represent the company through various industry partnerships and events. A strong working knowledge of the travel trade distribution channel, as well as excellent copywriting and content execution skills, is essential for success in this role.Key Areas of AccountabilitySupport the delivery of a long-term trade engagement strategy for the Armstrong Collective brands Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit.In collaboration with the Manager, manage comprehensive and multi-faceted trade engagement programs globally, including setting objectives and targets, analysis of data, implementation and monitoring of programs, the measurement, tracking and reporting of results and ROI. Initiatives include:Championing and developing the Agent Portal to be a center of resource for the global travel trade community in collaboration with the Digital Experience team.Drive the strategy and execution of the B2B email program, including sourcing and management of content, copywriting and editing and development of email nurture streams.Marketing and development of our online trade training program, TRACKS.Support the execution of the trade advertising strategy, including oversight of any agency/publishing partners.Collaborate with the global Sales Support/Training Teams to design and deliver sales training tools such as collateral, webinars and sales presentations through the trade channel.Creating, writing, editing and managing B2B content and disseminate through trade engagement channels.Assist with management of industry partnerships (e.g., Tourism DMO’s, YVR Airport, CLIA) to leverage their channels to promote Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit.Marketing LeadershipWith Partnership Marketing team, champion the Trade Engagement requirements across the various teams at the organization to drive projects forward.Align with and leverage consumer marketing plans and initiatives to drive awareness and consideration.Working with Digital Experience team, ensure program targets are established, and results are measured and achieved; recommend ways to improve efficiency.Work closely with the Partnership Marketing team and Outside Sales teams to disseminate key global B2B travel trade information and gather information about partners B2B marketing initiatives.Oversee and participate with collateral development & production, ensuring brand alignment.Demonstrate strong and collaborative negotiation skills.Operational ActivitiesSupport the Manager with budget preparation, expenditures, monthly monitoring, and year-end accountability.Apply expertise to implement best practices and review processes and procedures to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.Collaborate with multiple internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Research & Analytics, Product, and Operations.Participate in regular business and market development meetings.Give presentations to the organization, including campaign review, procedural changes, strategy, updates.Represent Armstrong Collective at targeted events as required.QualificationsEducation / Certifications / KnowledgeUniversity degree, with post-secondary education in marketing or relevant experience.Experience3-5 years’ experience in tourism or travel trade sales and/or marketing.Strong understanding of travel trade and the distribution channel.Experience working with a website content management system.SkillsKnowledge of Google AnalyticsExperience with Project Management.Strong copywriting, editing and content development skills for B2B and email marketing.Understanding of customer lifecycle and funnel stages.Adaptive and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong strategic, critical thinking and analytical skills.Service oriented with a strong customer focus.Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.AttributesA creative thinker.Able to quickly develop solutions to challenges.Detail oriented with exceptional planning, organizational and time management skills.Understand the needs of the client(s) and are relationship driven.Flexible outlook, collaborative and know how to work within diverse teams and work groups across an organization, to deliver results.Enjoy working in a fast-paced and fun team atmosphere.Work EnvironmentMust be legally entitled to work in Canada.Corporate Office - Vancouver based, hybrid role with a minimum 3 days per week in the office.Ability to travel as required.CompensationThe base salary offered for this role is $64,000.00 - $75,000.00 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
