Responsibilities Lead the deli department as a coach, mentor and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on “Always Customer First” service. Ensure operational excellence in customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising. Engage and retain team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition and succession planning. Communicate key messages and business objectives to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Support management in reviewing and analysing income statements to identify performance improvement opportunities. Review and interpret department financial reports and present KPIs to management. Analyse business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department. Assist management in implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty. Lead inventory counts/period‑end of the department and resolve issues as required. Perform all job duties throughout the department, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments. Qualifications 1‑3 years of retail experience. Leadership experience is an asset. Food Safe Certification. Post‑secondary education in a business‑related field an asset. Experience/knowledge in achieving sales targets and profitability. Executing merchandising plans and creating in‑store displays to drive sales. Experience with human resources (training, development, coaching, mentoring). Employee relations and knowledge of the collective agreement (if applicable). Scheduling.
