The Health Insurance Programs (HIP) Branch is accountable for administering the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). The Registration Services Unit provides policy direction, business rules, operational support, quality assurance, audits, business process improvement, registration and enrollment functions, and investigative support for registry offices and Alberta Health customer services.Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Business Specialists Team Lead, the Senior Business Specialist monitors registry agent performance, analyzes data from multiple database systems, identifies issues and trends, and prepares in-depth reports for senior management. The role also supports data integrity initiatives (PRDIT), enhances system security and integrity (Reflections, SSDIR), and provides province‑wide first line contact services for the Service Alberta Contact Center (Tier 3) and RAN offices.Develop and produce reports to support government departments and system life cycle initiatives.Guide and coach entry‑level positions, participate in project and committee work, and act as subject matter expert for specified issues.Provide province‑wide first line contact services for the Service Alberta Contact Center (Tier 3) and RAN offices.Identify, develop, and implement enhancements to quality, processes, systems, and reporting to improve operational results.Ensure business processes, systems, and initiatives related to the administration of the AHCIP are continually enhanced to ensure compliance with health care regulations and legislation.CompetenciesApplicants must demonstrate the following competencies:Agility – Proactively incorporate change, remain objective under pressure, and support others to manage their emotions.Drive for Results – Remove barriers to outcomes, forecast and address project challenges, and align solutions with the organization’s mission.Systems Thinking – Take a long‑term view of organizational objectives, anticipate outcomes, and seek stakeholder perspectives.Creative Problem Solving – Use wide techniques to break down problems and bring the right people together.Build Collaborative Environment – Involve stakeholders, share resources, resolve conflicts, and appreciate diverse perspectives.QualificationsMinimum: High school diploma and four years of related experience. Equivalency is considered on the basis of ‘one year of experience for one year of education’ or vice versa.Detailed knowledge of AHCIP regulations, policies, and procedures.Completed training on Health’s applications and strong Microsoft Office skills.Extensive knowledge of Reflect on Workspace and SSDIR systems.Asset: A cover letter outlining how your experience relates to the qualifications of this role is required.NotesThis competition will staff two (2) full‑time temporary & permanent positions.
