The company, a leader in Heavy Civil Construction projects throughout British Columbia, is seeking a Senior Estimator with a minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction. The position is available in either Hope or Kelowna.Key Responsibilities:Lead the estimation process for large and complex Heavy Civil Construction projectsRead and understand drawings and specifications, develop quantity takeoffs, and build project schedulesUnderstand typical contract models used in Heavy Civil Construction and advise on contractual issuesCollaborate with Estimating and Operations teams to develop accurate and competitive bid proposalsDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutionsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and other team membersAdapt quickly to changes in the environment and application of work to ensure project successManage and prioritize multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailIdentify and mitigate potential risks associated with the estimation processParticipate in project handover meetings to ensure accurate transfer of information to the Operations teamQualifications:Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy civil constructionDemonstrated experience in successfully completing large and complex Heavy Civil Construction projectsField experience, technical diploma, or engineering degreeRegistration with ASTTBC or EGBC is an assetProven ability to lead and mentor team membersStrong understanding of construction estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and ProjectEffective written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on relationship building and negotiationAbility to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholdersStrength in change management and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environmentOrganized with a high attention to detail. #J-18808-Ljbffr
