DescriptionAs an integral part of the Safety Team, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing safety support to employees. The Safety Coordinator maintains programs, policies, and practices to build a safety-first behavior-based culture. This role involves collaborating with operations teams to maintain our safety system. We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our Support Services Team in Mackenzie, BC. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, with standard business hours and occasional flexibility based on operational needs.Responsibilities include maintaining and supporting the company’s Health and Safety program, focusing on documentation control, training, orientations, audits, and continuous improvement. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with operations, supervisors, and safety personnel to implement and monitor safety systems and foster a safety culture across our operations. Key duties involve managing safety documentation, developing and updating policies, conducting audits, coordinating hazard assessments, and supporting investigations and inspections. The role also includes supporting training initiatives, ensuring first aid compliance, managing claims, and advising the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.Qualifications required:2+ years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environmentsA diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (CRSP or relevant designations are assets)Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations, hazard assessments, and safety systemsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills for training and coachingProficiency with Microsoft Office and safety tracking systems (e.g., DATS)Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environmentIf you are a team player passionate about safety and continuous improvement, this is your opportunity to make a difference.Additional information:Living in Mackenzie, BC: Enjoy a balanced lifestyle in a safe, family-oriented community with outdoor recreation, affordable housing, and amenities.
