Power BI Architect

OverviewAdastra is seeking an experienced Power BI Architect to join our Visualization Practice. In this role, you’ll design and implement scalable Power BI solutions, shape governance frameworks, and contribute to impactful analytics projects across diverse industries.Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON (Hybrid, up to 3 days onsite)Status: Full-TimeResponsibilities:Develop and execute a Power BI implementation roadmap to achieve target architectureDesign and implement Power BI platforms, including architecture (gateways, capacities), security, and admin settings for both cloud and on-premises environmentsDefine governance and delivery models to support a self-serve BI platformDesign and build complex Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, dataflows, and datamartsConduct skills assessments and deliver Power BI training sessions as neededPlan and execute migrations from legacy BI systems to Power BIQualifications, Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldProven experience implementing Power BI platforms (Power BI Service and PBIRS)3+ years of professional experience in a Power BI Architect role3+ years as a hands-on Power BI Report Developer (Power BI Reports, Paginated Reports, or SSRS)Solid Center of Excellence (CoE) and Governance experience as it relates to Business Intelligence and Power BIExpertise with composite models, aggregations, and advanced DAXProficiency in SQL and data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling)Strong understanding of security and governance configurations within Power BIFamiliarity with 3rd-party tools such as Tabular Editor and DAX StudioKnowledge of database management systems, OLAP, and ETL frameworksAnalytical mindset with the ability to translate data into meaningful insightsSelf-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, innovative approachExcellent communication and client engagement skillsNice to Have:Experience with Analysis Services Tabular models (SSAS or AAS)Experience with Power BI Dataflows and DatamartsFamiliarity with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)About AdastraFor more than 25 years, Adastra Corporation has been hyper-focused on data and the infrastructures to support it.
