Your future starts now at Empower SimcoeWe are recruiting for a contracted full‑time Youth Engagement Facilitator to cultivate and activate the potential of all youth to engage with, influence and impact their communities. This position will support and promote community youth initiatives and partner with community organizations to develop and co‑facilitate opportunities for youth to participate in their community. This contract will expire on March 31, 2026.Compensation PackageWorking up to 30 hours per week, 4 days per weekMinimum starting rate of pay is $31.49 per hour11 paid statutory holidaysConfidential Employer paid Employee assistance program for you and your family membersMinimum Requirements of This Position IncludeDiploma or Degree in Social Services or a related field is preferred, or acceptable equivalency as determined by the employerMinimum of two (2) years recent full‑time work experience supporting diverse groups of youth inclusive of all abilities, cultures, race, gender, and religionPrevious experience supporting youth in inclusive environments; youth with an identified developmental delay; and/or youth who may be at risk related to one or more Social Determinants of HealthMust have experience collaborating with community partnersBilingual in English and French is an assetMust be eligible to work in CanadaDuties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)Co‑facilitate youth groups in the community which promote inclusion, skill building, personal growth and community involvementCoordinate and support the Youth Advisory CouncilFacilitate referrals to appropriate services through the DSO for youth who have not been formally identified through the education systemConnect youth with appropriate supports to promote academic success (i.e., tutoring, transition supports)Promote opportunities for youth in collaboration with Empower Simcoe's Marketing and Communications Manager and community partnersPromote a safe environment for all youth through an anti‑oppressive lensIn collaboration with community partners, work with groups of youth to identify group goals and strategies to meet those goalsProvide youth with intellectual disabilities with information about programs such as Transitions and Employment services that will support youth in a smooth transition from youth services to adult servicesParticipate in special event planning and implementation during school breaks (March Break, Summer, Winter Break)Special Factors of This PositionEvening work will be a requirement of the positionWeekend work may be required to support community activities/special eventsWorking out of community locations in both Barrie and Orillia and other areas of Simcoe County as identified by needMust have a valid Class G driver's license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employmentMust participate in team meetings and attend training, as requiredEmpower Simcoe is committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where everyone feels respected and valued.
