Red Seal Industrial Electrician

OverviewParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Red Seal Industrial Electrician (CBA - Skilled Trades Ticketed) to join our team. In this role, you will install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment. You will read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to troubleshoot and repair equipment, and perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical systems and components. Local candidates are preferred but open to candidates who are available on a fly-in/fly-out rotational basis. These positions work shifts of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off with 12 hours per shift. This role includes paid travel to and from the site as well as housing accommodations, but employees are responsible for providing their own food/meals. This position includes membership in the United Steelworkers Local 925. The hourly wage for this position is $47.00.What You’ll Be DoingInstall, maintain, test, troubleshoot, service and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical controls. Work includes equipment or components directly or indirectly exposed to electrical power, such as motors, generators, pumps and lighting systems.Install, maintain, or repair equipment for generating, distributing, or utilizing electric energy.Maintain compliance with site EHS requirements, promptly report any incidents, and complete all required training.Install or repair various electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.Read from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications and locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.Work from standard load calculations and use various electricians\' hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.Perform work according to site maintenance procedures and provide input to create or revise procedures.Assist other crafts as needed, and work in plant, office, or shop environments.Coordinate with supervisor and supply chain to ensure inventory and parts are in stock or processing purchase orders; communicate closely with operations during the repair process.Work safely and participate in site safety programs and site continuous improvement initiatives.Required Skills You’ll BringRed Seal Journeyperson Electrical license.Experience working with electrical systems in a large industrial facility.3+ years of domestic/commercial/industrial electrical experience.Valid Class 5 driver\'s license.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg, and to stand, pull, or crouch for long periods.Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.Desirable Skills You’ll BringA valid Mine Rescue Certificate (surface) compatible with Yukon OHS Mine Rescue Standard (OHS, 2016) and approved by Yukon WCB, or willingness and ability to obtain such.This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
