Radiological Technologist - Vancouver Coastal Health Salary: CAD $36.69/Hr – $45.81/Hr. Overview The Radiological Technologist will work within the Radiology team at UBC Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital to produce diagnostic radiographs and conduct various diagnostic procedures, independently or in collaboration with radiologists and other physicians. Responsibilities Produce diagnostic radiographs and conduct various diagnostic procedures. Apply best practice radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff and the general public; complete required documentation and administrative tasks. Monitor the patient during procedures, including equipment performance and maintain cleanliness of the examination room. Maintain and advance clinical competence by participating in committees, teams, and approved research projects. Education & Experience Successful completion of a recognized Medical Radiography program. Successful completion of the CAMRT certification exam in Radiological Technology and/or certification with the Order of Technologists in Medical Imaging, Radio‑Oncology and Medical Electrophysiology of Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ) in Radiodiagnosis. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Broad knowledge of applicable CAMRT standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines. Broad knowledge of radiological technology theory and practices within a patient/family centered model of care. Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment. Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence‑based practice related to the designated modality. Demonstrated ability to use clinical practice documents, organization policies and procedures, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment. Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence‑based practice related to designated modality. Basic knowledge of research process and methodology. Demonstrated knowledge of PACS, Radiology Information Systems and electronic health records. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively—verbally and in writing—and work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and establish workload priorities. Demonstrated CPR knowledge and ability. Ability to operate related equipment and software applications. General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and strengths‑based care. Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety and provide culturally safe care.
