Come work as a Radiological Technologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Radiological Technologist to join the General Radiology team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team Responsibilities Produce diagnostic radiographs and conduct various diagnostic procedures, either independently or in collaboration with the Radiologist and/or other physician(s). Apply best practice radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff and the general public and complete required documentation and administrative tasks. Monitor the patient during the procedures, including equipment performance, and maintain cleanliness of examination room. Maintain and advance own clinical competence by participating on committees/teams and approved research projects, as assigned. Education & Experience Successful completion of a recognized Medical Radiography program. Successful completion of the CAMRT certification exam in Radiological Technology and/or certified with the Order of Technologists in Medical Imaging, Radio‑Oncology and Medical Electrophysiology of Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ) in Radiodiagnosis. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Broad knowledge of applicable CAMRT standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines. Broad knowledge of radiological technology theory and practices within a patient/family centred model of care. Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment. Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence‑based practice related to the designated modality. Demonstrated ability to use clinical practice documents, organization policies, procedures and standard of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment. Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques. Basic knowledge of research process and methodology. Proficiency with PACS, Radiology Information Systems and electronic health records. Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, and effective interpersonal skills with patients, families, co‑workers, physicians and external agencies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Conflict resolution skills. Ability to establish plan and workload priorities in collaboration with others. CPR skills. Operating related equipment and applicable software applications. Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths‑based care. Promotion of Indigenous Cultural Safety and competence in culturally safe care in a variety of settings and diverse populations. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Hours of work, days off, and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly‑funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
