We are looking for team members who can effectively communicate, show diligence in quality and detail, and work collaboratively as a team player on our construction field sites.Job Duties & Responsibilities Include, but not limited to, the following:Assist Site Superintendent on maintaining a clean and safe worksiteRead and understand construction drawings and be able to build to drawings and specificationsResponsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power toolsGeneral carpentry duties such as layout, measuring, cutting, erecting, and joining materials togetherInterior systems duties such as acoustic ceilings, access flooring, metal framing, wall partitions, and modular systemsDoor and hardware installation, floor coverings, material handling, equipment operationAbility to properly seal and flash building elements in accordance with manufacturer specifications without deficienciesProficient knowledge of concrete formwork and falsework, reinforcing, placing, and finishingWork conditions and physical capabilities: physically demanding, handling heavy loads (up to 50lbs), bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, working at elevations, working outdoors in all weather conditionsAssist in coordination of warranty work for completed projectsSafety oriented with the ability and willingness to carry out tasks in line with safety compliance requirementsFoster positive communications and relationships with clients and subtradesOther assigned tasks from the site superintendent or project manager as neededQualificationsAppropriate level of carpentry and construction experiencePrevious experience in ICI, retail, low-rise residential and/or commercial construction an assetValid G class driver’s license and reliable travel to field sitesOwn and maintain basic trade tools and equipmentAbility to conduct yourself in a personable manner to build client relationships and foster team working environmentsAre you ready to come #BUILDSTRONG with team Fortis?
