We are currently recruiting for a senior national property claims adjuster for our Customer Response – Property team. This hybrid role requires flexibility and willingness to work rotating shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Monday‑Friday) and occasional Saturdays. What You’ll Do Support our claims customer demand through a phone and text line environment Investigate and negotiate various complex personal lines claims in accordance with Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines Confirm coverage and compile FNOL information for incoming claims Provide expert claims guidance/advice to customers, peers and other stakeholders Maintain data accuracy and issue payments to vendors, insureds and experts Review and compile facts, policy, and technical reports; analyze estimates, claim value, negotiate/settle accordingly Effectively advise and counsel customers on claim status, provide exemplary customer service, and inform related parties of claim status Ensure all correspondence is completed efficiently including creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss and reservation of rights letters Recognize questionable claims, identify subrogation and risk opportunities, review case law to determine liability Meet Property team performance expectations and contribute to team success Adhere to policies surrounding attendance What You’ll Bring 5+ years of property claims experience, handling large losses and/or field tasks CIP designation completed or in progress, with at least one CIP course completed Atlantic licenses obtained Experience with first‑party commercial claims (building owner/tenant, business income, stock, cargo, builder’s risk, crime, equipment) valued Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with high customer demand Comfort dealing directly with key commercial clients and brokers on claim issues Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Guidewire Strong prioritization and organization skills Critical thinking and collaboration with stakeholders for best outcomes Hardworking, self‑motivated problem‑solver Excellent oral and written communication skills Claims adjustment licenses in any province (asset but not required) Availability to support high‑volume catastrophes as needed (evenings and weekends) What You’ll Get Salary determined by knowledge, skills and experience Compelling rewards package: base compensation, annual bonus eligibility, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness, volunteer opportunities Outstanding career development opportunities and professional development support Competitive vacation package with option to purchase 5 extra days off per year Employee‑driven programs focused on gender, LGBTQ+, origins, diversity, and inclusion Corporate wellness programs supporting physical and mental health Hybrid flexible work model Aviva Canada welcomes applications from all qualified individuals and has a process in place to provide accommodations for persons with disabilities at all stages of hiring and employment.
