Join to apply for the Project Coordinator (EIT) - Temporary role at Air Liquide Air Liquide Canada is seeking a Project Coordinator (EIT) for a 1‑year term to join the Calgary Plant Operations Team. The role focuses on analyzing and enhancing our plant’s filling processes and operational workflows, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and managing projects that boost productivity, ensure compliance, and reduce costs. Responsibilities Process Optimization: Review existing gas filling, handling, and distribution processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement data‑driven strategies to increase throughput, reduce cycle times, and minimize product loss. Project Coordination: Work with engineering projects from concept to completion, including defining scopes, supporting budgets, managing timelines, and participating in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or modified systems. Prepare and issue POs/PRs, write MOCs, execute PSSR, and work with on‑site contractors. Liaise with Air Liquide teams within Canada and the USA regarding the project. Technical Design & Analysis: Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for process modifications. Perform calculations and simulations to validate proposed changes and ensure they meet performance and safety standards. Safety & Compliance: Champion a world‑class safety culture. Ensure all process improvements and plant operations adhere to provincial regulations (e.g., ABSA, OHS), industry codes (e.g., CSA standards), and internal safety protocols. Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and contribute to risk assessments. Continuous Improvement: Implement and sustain methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen. Develop KPIs to monitor process performance and report project outcomes to the leadership team. Collaboration: Work closely with plant operators, maintenance teams, and management to gather insights, build consensus, and successfully implement changes on the plant floor. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Registered as an EIT, in progress towards a P.Eng in Canada. A minimum of 1–2 years of engineering experience in a process manufacturing or industrial plant environment. Direct experience in the compressed gas, cryogenics, chemical processing, or oil and gas industry is a strong asset. Demonstrated success in leading process improvement projects with measurable results in efficiency, safety, or cost savings. Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, pressure vessels, and piping systems. Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD or similar CAD programs. Experience with process simulation software is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
