Fortinet is recruiting a Senior Linux System Administrator to join our FortiStack team based out of Burnaby, BC. This team is responsible for the management, operation and continued development of our Openstack-based private cloud platform. This position would represent a great fit for IT professionals with heavy experience in Linux Administration, Datacenter Virtualization, and supporting large-scale Production environments.OverviewSenior Linux Administrator, responsibilities will include:Deployment and operation of an OpenStack-based private cloud, including measures for securing and protecting data in the cloudLinux Server Administration (Ubuntu/Red Hat/CentOS)Server, VM, application and network key performance metrics monitoringIdentify, document and track software defects found during testingDevelop, maintain, and execute tools and scripts to provide automation and self-service solutionsFocused on continuous improvement — always looking for improvement, automation and optimization opportunities from the cloudTroubleshooting and resolving technical problems, both individually and as part of the broader teamProvide technical leadership, actively sharing knowledge across teams and peersProvide on-call support as requiredWe Are Looking For8+ years of experience in production platform operationSenior-Level Experience in Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)Knowledge in server virtualization (KVM, VMware, etc.)Knowledge in network administration and industry standard protocolsKnowledge in network, server and system monitoring (Zabbix, Nagios, etc.)Knowledge of deployment automationKnowledge in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)Excellent ability to organize, multitask, work individually and in a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEducational RequirementA degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field.Good to HaveKnowledge in Openstack administrationBenefits and CompensationThe Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $92,000 - $112,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.
